Legacy Endowment
Establish Your Legacy by Creating a Grant or Scholarship Endowment
Established in 2002 with an initial gift of $45,000, the Wylie ISD Education Foundation’s endowments have now grown to over $2.7 million. These funds are invested in a way that helps teachers and students access the resources and tools they need to succeed, while also ensuring the endowment continues to grow for future generations.
The Foundation’s goal is to create lasting financial stability, allowing us to focus on our mission of enhancing education for Wylie ISD's teachers and students. With the support of the Wylie ISD community, we are committed to investing in both educators and students, providing the academic resources needed to spark a lifelong passion for learning.
The legacy of an endowment is its lasting impact. As a permanent fund, it provides ongoing financial support for scholarships, teacher grants, and other initiatives. Since only the earnings are used, the endowment continues to benefit future generations, creating a long-term positive effect on students, teachers, and the community.
Investment Spending Policy
The Foundation’s Finance Committee manages and invests all funds carefully to ensure they grow over time. These funds are part of a permanent endowment, meaning the main amount is never spent, only the earnings. This policy follows Texas law, Section 163.005 of the Texas Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act, and is designed to help the funds grow while still allowing a steady amount to be used each year to support education in Wylie ISD.
